Heather Cassandra Blessing, MA, LMFT
I started my adult life in the IT (Information Technology) field. While it taught me a lot, I just never had a passion for computers and always wanted to do more to help others in life.
I often felt I was just an actor in a play. With my first marriage I had one biological child and adopted another. Both were special needs children and taught me a lot. Doing a lot of therapy and learning myself, I realized I wanted to become a therapist.
I have had many challenges in my life but the more authentic I became the better my life became. I became happier and learned more skills that helped me.
In 2009 I graduated with a BA in psychology and in 2011 I graduated with my MA in Counseling Psychology. April of 2015 I became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California and in May of 2016 I became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Oregon.
While I started off specializing in adoption, foster care, reactive attachment disorder and childhood traumas, my path pulled my direction to working with transgender and gender expansive children, tweens, teens and adults.
I am part of the LGBTQQIA+ Community and an advocate. For me therapy doesn’t stop when you walk out the door. If you need letters, help in the school system, IEPs, 504 Plans, help with teachers, doctors, and family members, I can help educate and advocate for you.
I found a wonderful sense of peace when I followed my authentic path, I hope to help you figure out who you are and what your path is.
